The Rivers We Adventure On

  • Satilla River

Just north of the Okefenokee Swamp (but never touching it), the Satilla River flows lazily to the Atlantic Ocean. It is the only blackwater river contained entirely in Georgia. Known for its dazzling white sandbars, twists and turns, towering bluffs, and its redbreast fishery. The owners of OSE grew up on the Satilla!

  • Suwannee River

Way down upon the Suwannee River… this river of musical fame begins in Georgia, flowing out from the Okefenokee Swamp on its western side (accounting for 80% of the outward flow from the Swamp). It flows through Florida and to the Gulf of Mexico, and is considered to be the premier tripping river of Florida.

  • St. Marys River

The St. Marys River is known for its midnight black water, sandbars, and remote and wild stretches. Georgia on one bank, Florida on the other, this river flows out from the southeast corner of the Okefenokee Swamp (20% of the outward flow from the Swamp) and makes its way slowly to the Atlantic.
