Why Take a Guided Tour?
When you venture out into the wild with a trained and experienced Naturalist Guide, not only do you get to experience the beauty of the Okefenokee Swamp or the Satilla River, you get a world class, hands-on, up close and personal experience tailored to you or your group.
In Okefenokee, we do as our Swamper kin did- take the time to stop and “feel the Swamp breathin”. Look inside carnivorous pitcher plants… watch sandhill cranes cruise by overhead… float past alligators basking in the sun of the prairies and sliding silently among the forests of the western swamp. We travel paths that people from long ago travelled in a world that seems to have stopped in time.
In the Satilla, we drift down a river that once saw the passage of ancient tribes in dugout canoes, hunting parties of Creek Indians, and later the work of men rafting logs downriver to coastal sawmills. We walk on sandbars of white sugar sand amongst the tracks of deer, raccoons, herons, foxes. We glide on black water that tells a different story around every bend.
We are here to help you experience these magical places. Our heart and soul are in these places, and our heritage is here in black water.
We offer tours year round. Tours can given by motorized boat or canoes/kayaks, and can be totally customized to your interests. Even if you just want a quiet journey, we can make your trip exactly what you desire.
